I actually did that joke first as a sketch for someone at a signing, with four Warhol-type panels containing Tinky Winky, Dipsy, La-La and Edgar Allen. And don't worry about it taking a second to dawn on you - when I tried it out on Dr. F., she didn't see it coming, and she's a PhD who's lived with me for years...Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02982284633069836213noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29485212.post-90671465618314957502007-02-07T14:36:00.000+00:002007-02-07T14:36:00.000+00:00It's certainly good to hear that you're busy...
B...It's certainly good to hear that you're busy...

But now, tell me honestly... what came first, your desire to discuss the idea of Edgar Allan Poe's literary legacy, or that horrible, horrible, funny but horrible pun...?

(And if this sounds a little tart, it is possibly because it took me a few seconds to actually get it! I thought you had suddenly started typing in tongues, the teletubbies diabolically guiding your hand.)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29485212.post-14537010757410745342007-02-07T12:58:00.000+00:002007-02-07T12:58:00.000+00:00Congratulations on finishing Stickleback. I was wondering what you were going to do next so nice to see such a comprehensive rundown of future projects.

Having got the Leviathan collection afew months ago the other day I suddenly realised what the cover reminded me of. I used to have a Muppet Show comic from the late 70s. In it they had a few movie poster spoofs and the Jaws one replaced the classic Jaws poster of the girl swimming on the surface with the shark underneath with a muppet character and a great big paw instead of the shark (presumably Fozzie Bear's paw). Very similar to your Leviathan cover.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
