The Picture of Dorian Gray

Keep an eye open for the graphic novel adaptation of The Picture of Dorian Gray by Ian Edginton and amazing newcomer Ian Culbard.

Published by the Eye Classics imprint of Selfmadehero (the guys who publish Nevermore and the Manga Shakespeare series), it's a straight period adaptation of Wilde's story, drawn in a beautiful clean-line style by Ian Culbard (eat your heart out, Darwyn Cooke!).
Amazingly, Ian Culbard drew the whole 128-page caboodle in only four months - I tell you, the man's pleasant, talented and fast as all get-out - I'm starting to understand how the dinosaurs felt when they noticed the first small mammals scampering about the undergrowth…

If you want to see what it's like when Ian and Ian work together, check out Retro Rockets Go! on the Dark Horse myspace page.

There's more on Dorian Gray on the Selfmadehero site and Ian Culbard's blog, Strange Planet Stories. Ian's also a major contributor to Who Killed Round Robin?

The Picture of Dorian Gray will be available from Amazon.co.uk and Amazon .com.

Huge thanks for the plug and extremely generous words. And thank you for putting me in touch with Edginton in the first place.

I should point out that that's four months in our world, but actually a hundred years in Narnia. I knew that wardrobe was a bargain when I bought it.

I get to blog the next book (Hound of the Baskervilles) while I'm working on it so do drop by.

All the best,

INJC
